Renewable Energy through Wheeling

The cheapest energy for your site is rarely a single source. We compare four: generation on your site, batteries, renewable energy from projects elsewhere on the grid, and the utility supply that remains. We then combine them for the best delivered cost against your demand profile, whether you run a factory, a mine, a fleet or a data centre.

  1. A solar or wind project elsewhere feeds energy into the utility network.
  2. Under contract, that energy is allocated to you and billed to you.
  3. The utility bills network charges and any remaining supply.
  4. On-site solar and batteries sit behind your own meter.

Wheeled energy arrives through your existing grid connection together with the remaining utility supply, and the network operator charges for carrying it. On-site solar and batteries can be designed to carry essential loads during a grid outage.

Delivered cost and contract terms

We model generation timing, available volumes, contract duration, tariff escalation and the charges that remain on your utility account. You see the delivered cost of electricity alongside the obligations each option carries.

Wheeled supply suits businesses with limited space for on-site generation or with several operating sites. The final structure depends on project availability, network arrangements, metering and approvals.

Supply sized to your demand

We assess the renewable supply alongside your remaining grid purchases and future demand, and size any on-site storage to the continuity your operation requires.
